PImax/PEmax measurement

The MicroRPM (Respiratory Pressure Meter) employs a simple combination of valve, filter and mouthpiece, to attain a reliable and safe measurement of PImax or PEmax (MIP/MEP respectively)

  • Flanged Mouthpiece


    The Flanged Mouthpiece provides grip for the patient.

    They are designed to be sterilized and re-used, but each patient must use a new or sterilized mouthpiece.

  • Bacterial Filter


    The Bacterial Filters prevent cross contamination between users, and additionally protects the unit.

    They are for single patient use and thus are disposable items.

  • Inspiratory/ Expiratory Valve Assembly


    The Inspiratory and Expiratory Valve Assembly ensures the patient performs the correct manoeuvre (Inspiratory Valve for PImax/MIP, Expiratory Valve for PEmax/MEP).

    These items are spare parts and do not need sterilizing after use nor replacing unless physically damaged.

SNIP (Sniff Nasal Inspiratory Pressure)

The MicroRPM employs a simple adaptor and probe to attain a reliable and safe measurement of SNIP (Sniff Nasal Inspiratory Pressure).

  • Nasal Probes


    The Nasal Probe ensures the patient performs the SNIP manoeuvre correctly and with no leakage.

    They are designed to be sterilized and re-used, but each patient must use a new or sterilized nasal probe.

  • Perasafe Sterilization Procedures


    Perasafe is a medical instrument sterilisation powder, which when mixed with warm water and the item allowed to soak, will provide full disinfection within 10 minutes.
